I like both as long as the layout is simple and I like the sound I am happy - my new(ish) Groove is active but my Warwick Streamer Std 2 is passive and did me proud for 6 years.

I'd say active *generally*, though I do miss having the option to go passive on the Kingbass (as opposed to S2000)
If and when I get round to ordering a lubley new S2 from Rob I'll definatly want to get the option included if possible.
Status S2 5 String Fretless 'Moo-wood'
Status S1000 rebuild
Fender Strat - Fretted
Shadow Superstrat Guitar - Fretless
Ibanez RG Electric of some sort
Avalon As-101CE Electro-Acoustic Guitar

I've owned 5 Statii so far, with 2 at present....

Tough question (and an easy summer poll) for a Status player, but it would be interesting to see the response as many members have other basses they use regularly.

Electronics: Do you prefer ...

Active electronics
Passive electronics
None! ;)

Let's debate!

An interesting description of both types can be found here: http://www.tunemybass.com/bass_guitar...ups_1.html
