...What I was trying to get at was, how the US (pop?) music scene does not care so much about variety, but more on sales. To do this the industry pretty much only lets you hear what they want to sell. (something like that).
I asked about 20 of my neighbors and coworkers from "our?" generation if they knew any Level 42. 2 people said Something About You, and 1 guy said Hot Water and Something About You.

Couldn't agree more.
I think all the 'bassists' from the USA consider themselves to be anything BUT pop and yet MK is really pop funk and so looked down on!
We don't care though... We luv 'im!
