Welcome Fran, now you need the new iPhone launched today which (of course as usual I am soooo stupid) I have already :o

Well for one it's much faster, including the browser and 3G which loads easily 2 to 3 times faster than before. For me the main component is the fact it has a compass inside so when yo use the Maps (remember I travel a lot ...) instead of reading directions such as walk East for 400 meters, the map will rotate with the iPhone. For me this is really cool so I shouldn't get lost anymore ;)

It also has more memory if you get the 32Gb model, voice recognition too so you can say "play level 42" and it does, or even "call so and so" etc.

Pretty cool really but still no Status application :o

ie does the battery last more than twenty minutes, the reception work, and the speaker and mike show any signs of improvement in quality?

For the timebeing it's too early to say; only had it for 2 hours but will report further as time passes ;)

By the way still no front or side leds either !

it doesn't come out in the Netherlands until the 26th.
Upgraded the "öld" 3g to version 3.0, works like a charm but now I'll have to wait for the jailbreak again.
I have a ton of paid apps for free, but I need the jailbreak for them to work.
They already broke the sim restriction with utrasn0w by the way, so no need to switch phonecompanies if you don't want to.

Looks and operates very nicely though, the cut and paste was something I was waiting for.

it's a lot faster (I held one of the pre release phones a while ago, and tested it with my own next to it)

faster 3G-connection: from 3,6 to 7,2 Mbps (HSDPA).
Mobile Safari is faster and gets HTTP-streaming of audio and video.
support for OpenGL ES 2.0-standaard, this is better for gaming

compass, voice controll,
nike + connectivity (connect the sensor in your shoe to the phone)
Might be nice also to connect it to your thumb, and see who will be the fastest bass player :-)

voiceover, will say what's on the display

find my iphone, will find it after it's stolen, so you can actually kill the guy who took it (this feature I like very much)

Remote wipe (another nice to have if you are using it within a company)

battery is much better:

Internet (via Wi-Fi): from 6 to 9 hrs
Video: from 7 to 10 hrs
Audio: from 24 to 30 hrs
2G talktime: from 10 to 12 hrs
3G talktime from 5 to 5 hrs


And at last Itomtom will be available very quickly with a very nice in car holder with boosted integrated gps reception.
