Hi Lee, I can solve your mystery. Your bass was built for me prior to Mark's finished first four basses, but the first four serial numbers were assigned to him for obvious reasons. So yours was the first bass produced after prototype models, but was assigned the number 005 to leave first 4 serial numbers free for Mark's final basses, which were still in production
