Status GMT Guitar

Arrived fresh this morning all the way from Japan! This a Series 2 GMT guitar, built in 1982 (?) with serial number #25

Birdseye maple top on ash body wing
Graphite through neck
25 1/2'' scale, 24 frets medium jumbo
Phenolic fingerboard with no inlay
No truss rod
GMT Design pickups
Active / passive mini switch
Master volume and pickup balancer control, treble & bass control when active circuit is on

PS. It's really small and beautiful and in amazing condition !!

WOW :D that looks totally awesome, looks like its spent most of its life in the case!! what a fantastic find :p

Indded! I am sure it has spent years in someones basement in it's (tiny) case

Just been playing it now!

Unbelievable and ... take a tape measure ... only 75cms long :o it's tiny!!

Well it's very interesting ... haven't "guitared" for a while so it feels tiny compared to your average bass. Preamp indicator is indeed not present so slightly different. Asked Rob about it and he couldn't remember ... serial num 25 probably goes way back. I'll try to get some snippets when I can. Anyhow interesting find ... all the way in Southern Japan (where they live longer too!). Will post more after further testing ;)

Interesting... your guitar has the inlays on the back and no battery LED. Could it be a re-badged Strata that didn't 'slip through the net' by Rob following the Fender v. Strata issue? Beautiful guitar though.
