Re-fretting a previously de-fretted Status II

Hello all,

I'm a recent proud Aussie Based addition to the Status owners club after finding a defretted 1987 Status II on ebay last month for $900 Aussie... 350 quid(ish) . I bought it for sentimental reasons as I was Status fan in the 80's but could never afford one.

It was defretted by its previous owner who filled using white teflon (I think). He did a pretty good job of it. However, I usually play fretted (another Mark King fan), so I'd like to get it re-fretted again. However, Status graphites seem to be extremely rare in Australia and the lack of a truss-rod is something a lot of guitar repairers have never seen and are a bit cautious about setting the neck relief.... IF it can be done on an older Status that is. I'm not sure to be honest.... I have no idea how it's done... if at all.

Does anyone have any thought about refretting a previously de-fretted Status. Is there anything unique to Status that I should ensure my guitar repairer is aware of?

Best Regards,
NSW_statii

recently became owner of Status II (serial no 333) so if anyone knows the exact year I'd be interested to know.
Just bid my last few $'s on a 6 string Energy on ebay this week but was unfortunately outbid. Hmmmm.. Maybe next time.
