IS this possible?

I'm thinking that I might want to get one of my Energy (graph neck) de-fretted.

Any ideas?

Status will do it for you, I wouldnt be too sure about doing it yourself though - as it's a phenolic fingerboard rather than wood.

The phenol-formaldehyde shouldnt splinter, but the laquer at the edge of the fingerboard almost certainly would. And then there is the problem of what to fill the gaps with?
Status S2 5 String Fretless 'Moo-wood'
Status S1000 rebuild
Fender Strat - Fretted
Shadow Superstrat Guitar - Fretless
Ibanez RG Electric of some sort
Avalon As-101CE Electro-Acoustic Guitar

I've owned 5 Statii so far, with 2 at present....

A local luthier told me he already did the job on dozens of phenolic boards. He fills the slots with white teflon, lowers the zero fret and sands down the fingerboard a bit. The process is reversible. Or you can have a new fingerboard fit on the neck but it's obviously more expensive.
It can be done, ditto.
