What is the real-world experience of Paramatrix EQ?

Is it a worthy addition to a new build Bass? or is the simplicity of the board 300 the better bet?

What do all the extra knobs do???

In my brief experience with a KingBass Paramatrix I would say that the new Para EQ is quite powerful. You can dial in every sound you can imagine, but on the other hand it takes a bit more time to explore the possibilities. I have used the bass at 2 gigs and to be honest I only used the simple 2 band EQ to adjust the sound. The bass sounds great by itself and I have found the best tone for me boosting highs and lows a tad (highs a bit more for slap) and the pickup balance slightly towards the neck pickup. This gives a really tasty and beautiful round tone. Both parametric sections have not been used for now...I would guess the old 3 band EQ with the mid switch is flexible enough if you do not buy a KingBass Paramatrix...
