Hello everyone,

I wanted to show my very first Status bass I got yesterday.
It's a Kingbass, not sure what type (if anybody knows, please let me know), but it was built in august 2003.

The sound and playability of this bass are just amazing, and I'm afraid it won't be the last Status I'll buy :)

From what I see on the Status website it does indeed look like to be a walnut standard. Thank you for your feedback.
I just love the way it plays. Had to get used to it, but after 10 minutes it felt like I never had something else in my hands.
Status Graphite definitely gained a fan :D

It took you 10 minutes! :o

Glad you also realise it won't be your last. They are addictive. Ask moo.

Love the bass.

I took possession of a Kingbass Standard with a Walnut top in March. After talking to Dawn I went for a Figured Walnut top as opposed to the straight grain and when I went to collect it, I couldn't have been more pleased with it.

As for buying more, I just picked up an S4000 as a back up, so yes they are addictive!

Garbo, is it the red S4000 posted on here by jcbear? If it is, you can be happy that I don't live in the UK.. I've had contact with him about buying it, but then I found the Kingbass, and the owner lived only a 50 minute drive away from me.

I actually love the simple grain, it gives the bass a "no nonsense" look IMO, and it lets the sound speak for itself. I don't really like all those fancy woods like curled maple (please don't kill me), but a nice, simple dark walnut top just looks gorgeous.

Yeah, that's the one, it turned out it was only a short train and ferry ride from where I live, so was easy to get there. I am very pleased with it. It is a back up, but will be used when I play in less favourable venues ha ha.

Don't get me wrong, I love the simple wood grains, the pictures of the original Rosewood Standard on the Status website just drew me in, but I couldn't believe how beautiful my bass was when I saw it. Have a look below. Let me know what you think

For me it would have been a trip close to 5 hours, including flying, so that was a bit too much. I hope you enjoy the bass, and I would have loved to own it as I love the looks of it, and I think it would have matched with my Fiesta Red 60's Road Worn Fender Jazz pretty well. Please let me know if you've got a clip of it in action, I would love to see and hear more of it.

I've got to give it to you, that Kingbass looks great.. I can see why you'd fall in love with it. treat her well ()
