What is this bass! S1B4? or Eclipse? Not sure..

This was painted black when I aquired it, and it was in a rough state. I have removed the black paint and waxed up the wood. But what the devil is it? It has Series 1 stamped on the circuit board but it was sold as an eclipse? The body is not chamfered like an eclipse though. I is confused. I paid £275 for it. Serial number is printed on reverse of headstock.

Looks a lot like an Energy Artist to me.

That's a Series 1. Energys had a different circuit. Eclypse had an ash body but Series 1 had the "exotic bookmatched laminate" body. Have a look at the link below. Can't understand why anyone would want to paint that beautiful face.

Painted black ??? WTF But you got a bargain at £275. Nice bass.

It was the same black paint as is on the headstock. The status logo is on top of the paint so I presume it was a factory finish.
