Very disappionted with Status.
I emailed Rob and Dawn and asked If I could purchase
a Status transfer for the headstock on my Energy.
He said that they don't send them out.
I even sent them a pic of the bass so they don't think I am trying to pass a non Status bass off as one of theirs.
I Only want to advertise the fact it's a Status as there is no
logo on the bass other than the Status name on the pick ups
which is now almost worn off.:@

Well, I can understand that. With the quality of printers and copiers you can buy these days it would be all too easy to copy something like that to a high standard.

Well, as much of an inconvenience as it may seem to be for you, at the end of the day Rob is just doing what he feels is right to protect his image and niche. These kind of things seems petty to us, but if you've been screwed enough in business, you eventually learn where to set your limits. It's his name, his reputation, his concept, his values and his choice. As long as he keeps making the basses that diminish the need for viagra, we can't complain.

I hate to agree with Todd because he is such a prick.

I do understand where Rob is coming from on this. I think he has to make blanket judgements on certain things to protect the brand. Very frustrating for you though old boy!

I think they'll put a logo on for you at the factory but I'm not really surprised they don't send transfers out because they'd be too easy to copy.

Also it would be the new style logo whereas your Energy would have had one of the older style ones, it might cause dating confusion with a new logo if you decided to sell it in the future.

Think of the fact that if Rob puts the logo on your bass that he can have a go round on it and see that everything is correct. Rob is a perfectionist as we all know, and I am sure that value wise having Rob put it on will be more greater than doing it yourself , on many levels. If it is important to you to have it on your bass then this is the best way to go for sure.

Somebody on here told me they paid £60 to have Rob put a logo on their bass. This on top of about £20 each way to post the bass to Status (If it gets there in one piece, or at all) Is in my oppinion a bit bloody steep. As for confusion dating the bass, there is a serial number stamped on the bridge that would verify the date it was made.
My Bass is definitely a Status Energy made by Status which I would like to advertise to all who may see me playing it by having a logo on the headstock that advertises the Status name. Look at the top of this page what do you see in the left hand corner ???
I will now have to print this page off and copy the logo on to some clear sticker paper which I can then apply to my bass.
A lot of messing about but cheaper than £100. I would have gladly paid Rob for a transfer rather than having to do this.

I too have an Energy whose only visual branding is faded and on the pickups. The smart Status logos on new basses look good to me, (though there's something to be said for being asked what sort of bass it is and showing the graphite neck and wonderful clean action). But grumbling because Rob won't post out transfers to be slapped onto an elderly bass seems to miss the point completely; your Status bass is a great instrument largely because very high standards were applied when it was designed and built, and the reply you got just underlines that.

I also own a Rickenbacker 4003 bass. If the trussrod cover with Rickenbacker stamped on it got damaged are you telling me that if I provided the serial number and a photo of my bass and mailed it to Ric in the USA they would insist I ship it to America so they could screw a new one on it. I DON'T THINK SO SOMEHOW !!!:P
