Hi, yes put it together myself; it's kind of a hobby. No problems really the most difficult thing is the routing for the electronics. I've built dozens of basses before for friends and family.

Yes it sound great, the main reason is the Wizard pickups. They blow the Fender ones out of the water and cost £75 to £85 depending on the sound you want. They will even build them to your spec. Of course the neck gives great clarity and the action is superb.

That's a very cool project bass!

Is there any chance you can record a sample sound?

Not my kind of bass but looks really great. Well done!

Is tempting to try something of my own. Especially as one of my friends is a 'chippie' and could fashion a nice body. Then, for the electronics, it's off to Max (Silentfly)

Well yes and no!

Like the woods but as you know, really not a fan of anything that looks like a Fender in any way. Just me! HOWEVER, it was made 'at home' so carries top kudos!!

A lovely bass. And inspirational as well. Swapping emails with Rob about buying a neck as we speak....er....type.....:)

I hate to agree with Moo because he is such a prick.

You really did a wonderful job putting that together, nothing but respect for your work Sir, although I am not a fan of the fender style basses (mostly because I associate the style with the product), I can appreciate how well you made it look like a well made instrument, good job! ()

Thanks for all the nice comments. I still enjoy the shape of Jazz basses, I think I've been playing them so long that they just feel comfortable. The worst things about Fender are the necks (variable quality), this one has all the good points (Status neck).

Still prefer my 92 S2 headed though, wonderful sound and feel!

As everyone has said, top kudos for making your own bass. Especially as it looks very professional!

I'm still tempted to do something myself!

Will probably end up looking like part of the deck of the Titanic... With a graphite neck on it!

:D
