Hey guys,

I've been thinking about putting some status Jazz style pickups in my jazz bass. Anybody used the status J pups? I'm also thinking about lindy fralin or the seymour duncan QP's. I imagine the status J's are pretty good, but never heard them before.

Most people I know that have do Jazz bass upgrades swear by the SD 1/4 pounders and think they are great.

Not sure about the Status ones, but I am sure they are also very good.

The S3000 i had, has J pups in it, they sounded good, much the same as the MEC in my Warwick

I definitely want hum cancelling pups. I have no problems with the tone on my vintage ones, but the buzz when only one is dialed in is pretty unbearable. I've actually had people ask me about it at gigs (never a good thing!:@) This happens on both my jazz basses. I've also been thinking about ordering a graphite neck for one of them. So, I may get some status pups to make it an status mutt bass. :D

The Status jazz necks are great. I am sure you would love it and it would look excellent! B)

What is the relative weight of one of these necks? Heavier or lighter than a maple jazz neck?
