Hi All

I got this little beauty from eBay about 3 years ago. Absolutely love it and play it all the time.

I think it's a Series 1 with the bolt-on wooden neck

But! I cannot seem to find the serial number...

Any ideas?

Cheers

SM

Nice bass!

I reckon it's an Energy Artist as it's a bolt on neck but with the bookmatched facings.

The serial number should be stamped on the lower side of the bridge.

I would actually say that you're right about it being an S1.

Yes - I've been looking at the brochures in the resources section and my bass has a little switch and four knobs (whoah, technical description!). The Energy series seem to have three knobs and no switch...

Can anyone confirm?

Cheers!

Looks like this Series 1 from 1994: statii.com/status_cats/catalogues/5/catalogue1994_1.jpg

Now I'm sure it's a Series 1. This one looks almost identical to mine

http://www.statii.com/status_cats/catalogues/16/index.html

What was the RRP when these were made (5 string, fretted, bolt-on neck, looks like walnut to my untrained eye)? And does anyone know when serial 1955 was made (approximately).

Thanks!

Although the shape of the horns are different and yours has the same body chamfers as a current S2 classic, rather than the more rounded shape of those Series 1s and Eclipse series.

You're right about the switch and the knob layout though (and the soapbar pickups), maybe it isn't an Energy after all!

I've found an ad from 1994. Definitely looks like my bass:
