Hi all,
After much deliberation I've reluctantly decided to sell my Kingbass.
Here are the details
> Mahogany body with book-matched figured walnut facing (black laminate between body and top)
> Natural satin polyurethane lacquer on neck and body
> 5-string woven graphite through-neck (headless)
> 34" (864mm scale), 24 frets with zero fret (no bendwell)
> Custom rosewood / phenolic fingerboard
> Dot markers on side of neck (no markers on front of finger board)
> Black hardware
> Mono-rail bridge/tuner units
> Standard 18mm string spacing
> 2 Status soap-bar pickups
> Three band E.Q. with variable midrange frequency
> Round wound 40, 60, 80, 100, 130 double-ball strings
I ordered this bass from Status in the Autumn of 2007. It's an absolute work of art. I could go into detail on how great and versatile the tone is and how responsive it is and how it sustains for ever but you guys already know how wonderful these basses are.
I'm selling it because I also have an S2 Classic through-neck and I just can't justify keeping both.
This Kingbass has only been lightly used and I've cared for it extremely well. There are no dents or scratches. It's in absolutely fantastic condition and as you'd expect from a Status everything is in perfect working order. The Status hardcase and paperwork is of course included in the sale price.
I've attached one picture but please email me if you're interested and I'll gladly send some you more.
I live in Hanwell in West London. If you are truly interested you are welcome to come round and give it a try.
Best regards
Quentin

Odd that they would make a Artist that looks so much like a standard. I had to do a double-take to notice the 'neck through' to confirm it wasn't a standard!

Looking at the spec it would appear it was specifically with a custom satin finish.
4 Asians, 2 Brits, 1 French and also some basses
Correct. I asked for the satin finish on the body because I think it gives the instrument a natural, organic look. Also the satin finish on the back of the neck makes it super smooth and comfy.
Lovely looking bass - I'm really into the finish on my S2 bolt on five string at the moment, The satin lacquer really brings out the wood grain.
Best of luck with the sale B)

Anyone intersted at all? If you think £1,500 is a little steep please feel free to make me an offer.
Cheers

Hi all.
After much thought I've decided not to sell. It's such a great bass and I would regret it if I did.
Sorry to mess any interested parties around.
All the best
Quentin
Hi all,
My Kingbass Artist 5 is up for sale again and I've dropped the asking price to £1,250.
Please see the first post in this thread for a picture and full description.
Please let me know if you're interested. Happy to send more high res photos if required.
Cheers
Q
if only it was 4 string!!
5 strings... like 4 strings but 1 better B)
Ha ha. Fair point.
17 weeks is a long time but it will be worth the wait. Any ETA?

OK, I am slightly biased towards 4 strings and have ONLY waited 17 weeks for my Kingbass so far.
Agreed, even 4 strings is a bit much for me. My next order from Rob will be very custom, perhaps if he can build me a 3 string bass?
Be patient on the order, never rush a good thing. B)
