Status Barracuda - Experiences?

I'm wondering if anyone here has any experiences with the Barracuda basses, manufactured in the 90's (around 97-98 actually, correct me if wrong).
The Bass Gallery has one for sale at 699 pounds. I figured it's a decent price, especially since it has leds.
I'm really keen on it, and would appreciate any and all info + opinions about it.
Especially if it's able to produce a sound close to S2 and live up to the Status standards?

Found one up for sale here in Bangkok so I'm going to see it this weekend. Will give you my humble report right after that.
