Morning all, just to let you know that the incredible Statii 2009 CD (What's Your Status?) is nearly ready!

I expect shipment of the finished CD next week so hopefully the week after it should be available to everyone.

General distribution will be made on cdbaby.com, and Statii members will be able to get a copy locally in Canada, in the US, in the UK and of course in Switzerland ;)

Just opened a fresh copy of the CD!!!!

Been quite a while since I heard the songs and I have to say, great job everyone!!!!! ;)

This is a fantastic accomplishment, it really is.......as Statii members we should all be very proud. It looks slick, sounds slick and it is something we have done as a big family so to speak.

I will post a few pics of the finished product in my hands soon as I get my afternoon sorted.

There was nobody "booted off" the CD, please dont feel that way. The original number of tracks to be included on the CD was 8, it was then decided that as a bonus, more tracks could be included, provided it did not interfere with the deadlines set by all party's involved. As I remember, there were many serious efforts to get necessary information from a few other members, however this was not possible within the set timelines. As regretful as this is, there has to be parameters to work within, otherwise the production of the CD would not be possible.
Sincere apologies to anyone affected, however, the success of this CD should make way for another.

As a relative newbie i have no knowledge other than recent postings here,would any one plez tell those of us in the dark something of the history of the CD,like whose on it ?,what tracks are there?,have they recorded the tracks with their own bands in their hometowns specificaly for the CD?,or are they solo peices of bass?are they original tunes?are they covers?........just dont tell me its all level42 covers!cheers

Hey Patrick, that is a good question indeed.

Last year Moo and I were having some discussions about this great forum and thought it would really cool to create an album using submissions from members of the forum as a showcase for our favourite basses (Status of course!).

So....we had somewhat of a contest whereas anyone could submit an original song recorded using a Status guitar or bass. A poll was then open to all members of the forum to vote the top 8 songs to be on the album.

Thats pretty much the basic concept behind it.....the album also has a special meaning as one of our members lost a family member to a long struggle with cancer, hence all proceeds from the CD going to Cancer Research.

I hope that helps out a bit...this is a proud accomplishment for all of us. I don't think any other forums have done something like this. Thank you Andre!

I would have loved to get together with you for a beer while I was over, even given you a call. The 4 days I was there were such a whirlwind, I guess I have to go back right? Hope you are well chum.
