Does anyone know if it matters which way around the saddle block go? The reason I am asking is that my 2000 is fab to play, but after the 12th fret the intonation seemed slightly out. So I checked and it was. To adjust and get it right, having an octive exacty on the 12th, means that the saddles are extremely far forward. In fact the rear alun nut on the side only just catches the saddle block of the 'E' string. The point at which the string touches the saddle is not exactly in the middle of the block. Currently the longer length is at the front and the shorter at the back. This seems to be the way they are meant to be (I check the original 2000 leaflet). However to reverse, would put them in a much better position on the bridge and mean that both alun nuts securely connected with the 'E' saddle.

Thanks

Just after I posted this, I though the bet person to ask was Rob. He is such a star. He must be mad busy, but still finds time to write back. Anyway, he replied already. If anyone else has this trouble. Basically, it is OK to have the whichever way 'round suits the best, given variations in models and strings. Just done it an it works a treat.
