Normally build my own but picked this up a few months ago for a good price on eBay. It seemed to exchange hands a lot in it's original form (black pick guard, Seymour Duncan electronics, etc) from my Google searches.

I really didn't like the Seymour Duncan preamp but the bass generally sounded good. EQ didn't seem to do much. I put in an Audere classic preamp with volume, low mid, high mid, stacked bass and treble controls. Thing is now a monster. Added a tortoise guard.

Spec's

Status neck
Hipshot tuners
Ray 35 body & bridge
Custom pick guard (no truss rod adjustment cut out at body)
Nordstrand 5.2 mm pickup
Audere Classic pre-amp (4 band EQ)

That should rattle the walls of any respectable establishment.
Nice job.

Really happy with it. I am sold on Audere pre-amps. I have the Pro-JZ3 units on my Status necked jazz basses and love them. The 2 mid range controls let me dial in that perfect stingray growl combined with the Nordstrand pickup. The Duncan preamp was so subtle, I have to wonder if it was broken because the reviews on line don't echo my experience with it.
