My first status bass advice s1 or 4000?

Gonna be buying my first status bass, been offerded a series 1 or a series 4000 what to go for, neither? any veiws? thankyou.

They will both be great basses. The 4000 was an entry level bass. It has the moulded plastic body and lower spec jazz pups and EQ. The S1 is a much higher spec instrument with humbuckers, either two or three band EQ and a wooden body. Really depends what sound you're looking for. The 4000 might have a slightly thinner sound than the S1.

Thanks bassbus, i do like the lighter sounding bass , but prefer the look of the s1, like the wood finish ,
