I met a keyboard player and got chatting about favourite bands etc. Tower Of Power came up and he said did I fancy putting a scratch band together for one night only doing some of their stuff for fun. We had no rehearsal time, we just learned the stuff at home for a week or so and then got together. Through all the players we knew we got ten players, four horns, bass, gtr, keys, drums and vocalist. It was great and exactly what we wanted...a fun night of playing tunes we loved.

The recording was just a mini disc on a chair in the room, so don't expect great quality but there is a feeling of 'your in the room' because of it. Anyway, I have loads of old rehearsal tapes just like it and they are the best to really get a feel of the tunes....warts and all!! I used the Status S2, I really had to roll the top off for this stuff but you can hear it from time to time, everyone was cooing over it like a new baby!...Wanted to share because funk is where its at! There are a few more if you likey.

Did another 'scratch band' night, this time playing finger style funk. The night was a Brand New Heavies night, four piece horn section, girly vocal and a very funky drummer. I only opted to use the S2 for 2 songs out of 5 for its punch and clarity I wont mention the other bass! What a great night, sorry, no sound samples this time :(
Small audience really loved it, all the doors where thrown open because of the heat, it even drew in a few passers by...great night!
