Chipped nut on my Status

A little of the nut of my Status has been chipped off (the bit between the E string and the edge of the neck), it looks like its not actually part of the neck itself but a bit thats been molded on seperately and I have all the parts, but how do you think it would be best to repair this? Remove the E string for 24 hours and set it with superglue or will this be too fragile? Should I send it in somewhere? Can anywhere repair damage like this?

I've attached a pic, its a Status Energy 4.

Cheers,
Oscar.

If it was me, I'd take it to a qualified luthier and have it repaired rather than attempt it myself.

The same thing happened to me recently on my S1....
TBH,rather than mucking about with superglue and having it snap off mid-gig(which I did)-you're far better off just ordering a new top-nut off the "On-line shop" part of the Status site for about £12 inc.p+p and getting a half-decent local luthier to stick it on for you (which I did later.)

Good luck.:)

yes, either order one from status or buy a nice adjustable nut on line. Maybe the Kingbass nut would fit, the one with the rollers in looks nice? The plastic nut just glues in, as long as you don't miss position it, save some money on the luthier its an easy job.

But.... if you are looking and are in a 50 mile radius of London, try this guy out.
