Hi there!

Whats the word for the difference between the string size. I mean the size between the strings. I heard its a difference between the 5 and 4 string and this "in between string room" or whatever is called.
Do you notice this difference when you play the same tune on a 4 string and the same tune on a 5 string. for example with the E,A,D string. Why does this difference exist anyway? i heard not all basses use different "in between string rooms" for their 4, 5 and 6 strings.

Sorry for my english. I hope somebody knows what i mean and what word i am looking for :)

Thx!

Some people prefer narrow string spacing (16mm), because it can allow to play faster and it could be easyer if you have short fingers. Some others prefer larger string spacing for slapping or because they are more comfortable with that 19 or 20mm which is nearly a standard on 4 strings bass. There is also an infinite number of possibilities in-between.

It is a matter of taste, some luthiers allow you to define the string spacing you prefer when ordering a bass, whatever the number of strings.

Yes - There is a standard string spacing on all the models, but you can get it changed (with an extra charge, of course)

Check the website for all the details - Information > Specifications i think.
