Wow! So many girls and just 1 Status :-)
Good guy Mattheus, a Status player and you have a Mac - Absolutely perfect !
Shame for the beer though ... Maybe a good clean up of the electronics and new batteries ?

17 years agoApart from a few exceptions, liquids and electricity are not a good combination :) In this case the best thing to do was remove the batteries immediately.
I would suggest to remove the battery and keep the battery boxes open. Remove the electronics backplate and leave them open in a dry environment for at least 48 hours. In this way you should be relatively sure that humidity is gone.
The pickups should be safe as standard SG pickups are sealed. Some beer could enter the pickups via the shielded cables but it is very unlikely and if happened, there in nothing you can do about it anyway :)
If you want to clean up the electronics you should disassemble the electronics and pickup and then clean the board and pots separately. Cleaning liquids can potentially ruin the bass varnishing so I would recommend to not clean the electronics with the board installed.
I hope this helps,

17 years agoThanks for all the advice!!!
Yesterday I took all the necessary actions to clean up the bass. I refreshed the batteries, opened the electronics backplate and everything seemd to be allright. No blackened lectronics parts inside... Last night I was up for another gig (YES It's the season of the year!) During the soundcheck I checked the bass soundwise and everything seemed to work OK...pfff quite a relief. The balance pot feels a bit rough while adjustig it. Maybe it will just "go away". If not, I will visit Rob very soon. I hope that I will not have to visit Rob, because visiting Rob and his factory and looking at all those basses will be a very, very big temptation...
