Re: Need Help with the different Status Body Shapes
Dear All,

I am little bit confused about the differences in the Status body shapes. Maybe it is because I have seen too many “Google Images “ of the different Status basses.
On the S-2 model, is there a slight difference in the body shape of the headed model vs. The headless model. It seems that on a lot of pics I see, the upper and lower horns are slightly “rounded” on the headed models (which I like much better)... Am I correct is it just an optical illusion?

Also seeing that the current S-3 model has slightly rounded upper and lower horns that make it look a lot closer to the current Stealth model? Or is that just an illusion created by the arch top?
The Stealth is my FAVORITE body shape but I am not sure I want an all-graphite bass...

Please help as I am trying to decided which model to get and I am a little hesitant about ordering an S-2 because of the sharp angles on the upper and longer horns.

Many thanks in advance!

Re: Best guitar stand for a headless 4 string Stealth bass
Here you go, the bass sits on the stand and does not rely on a headstock to secure it. I have been using a similar model for the last 5 years with my KB:

Re: R.I.P Boon
Agreed, Sad news indeed. A very unique guitarist. I am sure the reasons why will come out at some point, but in the meantime the first couple of L42 albums will be on the turntable this weekend

Re: SI Classic Deluxe - 4 String - Value now?
Anyone got an opinion on the the current value of a 4 string S1 Classic Deluxe - early 2000's? It's a bolt-on graphite neck with gold hardware and maple top. "As new" with case. New cost in 2000 was £899 (with chrome hardware).
For some reason (not size or file type) I'm not able to attach brochure pic, but it's in the brochure section under S1 Classic.

Re: Customs, tarriff and import taxes
Thanks for your help. I wish that I could find out ahead of time, just how much extra this is going to cost. Thanks again.

Re: Customs, tarriff and import taxes
When I've bought things from outside the EU, I'm in UK, I've had to pay these extra charges. They have added anything up to 30% on top of the cost of the item plus the delivery charge. I can't speak for US rules but that might give an idea. These extra charges are invoiced to you by the courier company not the point of sale. In UK we can pay for customs charges, import duties and VAT (sales tax).

Re: Customs, tarriff and import taxes
Hello, and thanks for any help. I live in New Jersey. I'm almost ready to place an order for a Stealth 4 string fretless bass. I'd like to avoid any unpleasant surprises. What customs charges, tariff, and import taxes, as well as any other charges, will I have to deal with? If I could get a ball park figure, a range of what the possible costs might be, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again for your help, and best wishes to everyone for 2019 and beyond.

Re: Series-II 30th Anniversary Bass
Does anyone know if any of these basses have ever been offered for sale by the original owners?

Re: dreambass
For those in the forum unaware, long time contributor dreambass (aka Ken Smith) has permanently left the building.
Ken passed away peacefully earlier this year after suffering a series of mounting health problems. He was a prolific poster on this forum and an avid Statii collector. I bought a Streamline, Retroglide, Buzzard II, Kingbass and the late great Mike Porcaro's old Series 2000 fretless from him. We traded back and forth for many years and it was Ken who introduced me to the NAMM Show in 2010. I've been attending ever since, though Ken's health issues didn't allow for him to attend in the later years. It opened a whole new world for me.
He was truly a one-of-a-kind individual whose chance meeting on this forum changed my life.
RIP, Ken.
