Re: status energy artist
Welcome to the forum!

That's a bit of a bargain, I reckon it's probably worth nearly 3 times that price.

It's probably from the late 90s, the earlier wooden necked Energy basses were shaped like the current S2 Classic. Status offered graphite reinforced wooden necks from the mid nineties (they still made the graphite necked ones too) for a while before going back to purely graphite necks.

They're pretty good instruments but not as sought after as the graphite necked ones although yours is the higher end Artist version.

Here's some info from the brochures section of this site:

Re: status energy artist
Hi all, don't know if my bass should be at this forum, with only 2 graphite fibres in the neck, but.. bought this energy artist v bass, and very little to find about. What year was it made? Was this before or after the graphite basses, cause its got a wooden neck. And: what should it be worth on the secondhand market: i bought it for 150 euro, i think that's very cheap? Got walnut top. Sustain isn't very great, was this bass not very succesful? serial = 4521
Anybody?
With regards, Marc, the Netherlands.

Re: Status Series II age?
Totally understand your excitement!

Mine is the #402 and it's an '88, so yours is probably the same year or very early '89. Enjoy!

Re: Status Series II age?
Thanks very much for the compliments guys! It really is a dream instrument of mine, I had always wanted a Series II but to get one with a maple facing is just fantastic.

I have finally seen the Status light again and I will never be without one now!

Re: Status Series II age?
My friend has 444, so I would guess 87/ early '88?

Lovely bass indeed!

Re: Status Series II age?
Hello there,

I've recently picked up a nice old Series II bass. The serial number is #487. Does anyone have any idea of how old it might be?

A friend of mine has a Series II with a #200 odd number which is an '86, so I estimated somewhere in the late 80's or very early 90's. Anyone got a better idea? Thnak you!

Re: status 2000 preamp imfo
thanks for taking the time to do that for me. i will take a look at the preamps on the status site. how do you like the king bass artist? i bought a 5 string artsit 2 years ago and find it to be great. i play in a covers band and play all types of music from country to rock and it sounds great all round. good luck and thanks again. dan

Re: status 2000 preamp imfo
I do not own a s2000, just a brand new Kingbass Artist.
But I took a look at the "Active Circuits" section of the online shop of the Status website - the two boards that have been fitted in the s2000 are: TB4 and TB42. There are pictures and - you can buy a new pre-amp....

Re: status 2000 preamp imfo
Oh, sorry! I read it as S1000. It's a different circuit in your bass, can't check as I sold my S2000 a few years back. There are a few kicking about on here though, so I'm sure you'll get an answer soon.

Dan,
The s2000 basses contain GMT PRE-SET 1 boards.
