A good question. I have no idea actually. I was told it was an S2 and I didn't really think about it. I'll have another look for a number when I get home from work, but I'm sure there isn't one there!

If you can't find a S/N then I would imagine that it's a Series II that's had a replacement top string retainer. Therefore no s/n stamped into it!
