Hats off to MK not just for generous donations like that for a good cause but also for loosing all that weight.

Agreed, he look a little more energetic these days, good on him. Don't know how Trevor feels about MK selling his bass though!

I actually thought it was an old clip at first because he looks like he did during the One Man tour, weird... Great video... the drummer in my band was at the Reading concert with two other people and they stood up from the first song but got told to sit down, they carried on and got moved to the back. Shit sound apparently too... (Cheer UP) Strangely, he says the Kingbass up for auction is serial. 0901004 (Sept, 2001, 4th one made) but mine is 0801005 (August, 2001, 5th one made) Anyone confused like me or is there an obvious explanation that i'm missing!!!??

Hi Lee, I can solve your mystery. Your bass was built for me prior to Mark's finished first four basses, but the first four serial numbers were assigned to him for obvious reasons. So yours was the first bass produced after prototype models, but was assigned the number 005 to leave first 4 serial numbers free for Mark's final basses, which were still in production Smile

Just read the serial number of my Kingbass - 0901008. Meaning September 2001, threrefore meaning my bass would be the 8th one made - is this correct? i200.photobucket.com/albums/aa267/Jaydee42/7021_294190545243_751030243_9440627_4469524_n.jpg

Hi Mike, yeah I would say so, and I see you have the new gold hardware on your Kingbass?! Wondered where you got it from as my original black hardware is gonna get plated next week!

Hi Lee, hope all is well with you mate. When I first bought the Kingbass the bendwell was cracked at the back as the previous owner had left it by a radiator in the winter. Because of this cosmetic damage I had it at a steal of a price when it was on eBay back in 2006! I sent it to Rob to have the bendwell re moulded and at the same time got him to put all gold hardware on it and upgraded the electronics (meaning you can have the LEDs on without having a jack connected) - this was back in the day when they sold the mono-rail bridges and string retainers online. There's a company called AGM (I think?) that sell the units, but as discussed on here a few weeks back the sizes are different and may not fit on some Kingbasses.

Hi James, long time no see mate. Yeah that's the one I bought from Steevo, which I believe you traded it for his Alembic MK.

Ahh, thought so , I knew it had a low serial number as I was on the phone to Status with my credit card faster than a fast thing in fastville when I first heard about it. Was a good bass. J. We had a little cash left over from the raffle, so I doubled it and made a contribution to the "Friends of Beaulieu House". If you want to do the same here is the link: http://donations.ebay.co.uk/charity/c...P_ID=47404 Mark was kind enough to acknowledge the effort so please give plenty ! "Brilliant Andre, thank you and all the Statii.com guys for your wonderful gesture. Mark."
