Hi all,
With typical bad luck, I was practicing for the gig tomorrow (Friday) night, and decided to try out a new lead. After I unplugged it, the Kingbass stopped working!!
The only way I can get a signal out of it is if the jack plug is about 3 mm out of it's socket. I figured the new lead may have done some damage, so took the back of the board housing and the attached is what I found

Has this new lead damaged the jack plug in some way, and if so any idea of a quick fix to get me through tomorrow night before I send it back to Status for a proper fix?
Any thoughts gladly received,
Thanks,
Jack.

I would suggest that you just bend the contacts towards the centre again.
Could you take a few photos with a jack plug inserted?

It appears as if the jack lead has cut one of the wires. This can be easily resolved by re-soldring the wire. It looks as if the grey one has been cut as you can see the inside of it.
This happened to me once on my old P bass.

I don't see how it could be a cut wire if it works when the plug isn't totally inserted.

Thanks for the quick response.
All the wires are intact and joints are fine, including the grey one.
On putting in the jack plug, I noticed the connector was touching the black ring around the plug. Shouldn't it be touching the tip (live?) end to make the circuit? If so, I can see what Steve means about bending it back to make it touch this area.
Attached are a couple of pics with the jack plug inserted.
Thanks again, this really is helping (and I suspect saving me from a lot of stick from the drummer tomorrow night).
Jack.

Was the jack hard to remove the first time?
It could have bend the contact "down" towards the front of the bass.
If you've a pair of long nose pliers or something you could try stretching it back up, and then in towards the plug again.

All sorted.
. A quick pull up and twist in and it's back. Thanks very much for all the help.
