T-bass intonation?

Hi,

this is driving me crazy...I have a T-bass with the regular bridge, not mono-rails, and the intonation is off (flat). The intonation screws do practically nothing, they moved the saddles a tiny bit in the wrong direction (of course :@), but when I tried the other way, nothing happened. Other than that the screws eventually came lose...

What's up with this?

Any help appreciated.

Thanks.

Whilst this may not be a great help it may be time for a replacement bridge. There's no point having one that has no adjustment. Not sure what would be the nearest to a direct replacement on one of those but the new Badass 3 looks a bit tasty.

You're probably right - I just find it weird if the saddles are fixed. New mono-rails would be great, provided no routing is necessary.

I love this bass, so I don't want to get too upset with it. ;)

You could indeed put the Status Monorail Tuners on... That would look great :D
Status S2 5 String Fretless 'Moo-wood'
Status S1000 rebuild
Fender Strat - Fretted
Shadow Superstrat Guitar - Fretless
Ibanez RG Electric of some sort
Avalon As-101CE Electro-Acoustic Guitar

I've owned 5 Statii so far, with 2 at present....

Or indeed the headless tuners... then you could tune from both ends!

If the intonation is that far out, have you considered that the problem could be due to old dead strings, hope this helps. ang :(

Thanks for your replies.

The intonation isn't that far off, but I just changed strings from 45-105 to 40-100, so it's a bit flat.

I e-mailed Status and Rob Green was friendly and helpful. Turns out I didn't loosen the two screws that ensures that the intonation doesn't drift...:o
However, things were messed up already, this just won't work. (I attempted the G and D string only, but none of them works, G to E).

Time for a bridge replacement - unfortunately the mono-rails weren't as easy a fit as I was hoping for.

I'll just play my Energy for a while. ;)

I have the mono-rails on my '98 TE/SE and really love that bridge. And yes, pix are always good. :)

If I remember rightly, when adjusting the bridge, the screws 'push' the saddles towards the head quite happily, but don't like 'pulling' back to the bridge. So it may well be worth making sure the saddles are moving back. (its worth looking at loosening the strings to get them back and then work 'forward')
If not, I guess its time for a new, shiney bridge!!
