I recently aquired a 1997 T-Bass SE, but finding reliable info is proving hard. Serial number is 97 SE 024. Does anyone know how many were made of the different models/finishes? This one is a natural flamed top.

I understand details are hard to find, my friend!
I just bought a 1998 T-Bass and am struggling to understand how many were made after the initial run.

Here is what I believe to be true:
Series 1996 - initial run of 100 4-string basses with wooden neck and no fretboard dot markers/inlays
Series 1997 - SE (how many were made? 5-string version also?) with same neck, but inlaid dots on fretboard
Series 1998 - SE in 4- and 5-string (100 made?) wooden neck with dots

Not made again until about 2006-7, with graphite neck (LEDs optional?)
Another series in 2017 or 2018 with graphite neck and LEDs

I have no clue how many were made in total.

And here is a curious difference:
In the Dec. 1998 issue of Bassist Magazine, a T-Bass review was printed, in which the subject bass was a 4-string in Candy Apple Red with White pickguard, and WHITE PICKUPS with visible poles. Every other T-Bass I have seen has black pickup covers. My bass (expected to arrive within the next 3 days) shares the configuration of the test bass in the article, down to colour and pickups.

I'd be ecstatic to have input from any experts/enthusiasts out there regarding this line of basses.
