Hey all,

Been meaning to ask this for a while now. I have 2 Groove basses, a 2003 fretless 4-string and a 199? 5 string. The fretless is ridiculously powerful in active mode and even in passive mode. The 5-er is quite the opposite, my passive J-bass seems to have higher output. Not a problem, just plug into the passive input and keep an eye on the traffic lights (proud Trace user too!) BUT, I was wondering if there is any obvious reason for this?

Battery has been ruled out, kept changing it at first to try to eek more power but to no avail. I was wondering if anyone knows if the cct or pickup changed at all in the Groove's history? Or should I just ask Rob when I finally pluck up the guts to place the order for my custom Retroactive J??
