EBS Fafner head

I keep moving between considering buying a light weight combo or keeping my swr cabs and buying a new head. I have the opportunity to buy a EBS Fafner head for £700 (new). Two questions........ Does that sound like a good price? Second question..... What experiences have people had with a fafner? Are they versatile or do they lean more on the side of a rock valve amp? Oh, and a third...... How does a status sound through one?
