Just wondered if anyone had taken the plunge yet or actually heard or played one ? Probably not though as they are a tad expensive to say the least !!

Cheers

Unfortunately, Rob's already had all the money from my bodily organ sale. I'm at the bare minimum for survival! :D

You'd be surprised how few bodily organs you really need.

I think solid food is over-rated compared to an all graphite S2, maybe others feel the same about the 30th Anniversary Kingbass. (You'd need a headed one to hang the intravenous drip on).

OK, I have a question. Since all of Mark's personal basses are equipped with XLR outouts, what does he plug into before the Ashdowns and effects? I assume it's something like an Alembic Series 1/2 Power Source but I couldn't see his pedal set up at the Annapolis show. Ken

Hi Ken, I didn't see an XLR output on the 30th anniversary (unless it was hidden on the side?)

PS. The hand with the Rolex is not mine :D

This video (from Birchmere one night after I saw them) clearly shows an XLR unless there's a cord technology that I'm not familiar with. I've seen the same on other videos and it's basically the same as my old ('76) Series One Alembic. I know the production bass doesn't have this but if I could afford buying a new MK/30th (I can't) the battery eliminator would be something I'd pay for. I NEVER ran my Alembic on batteries. KWS

Nice to see Mark using a similar scooped eq to me - Anyone know what the MarkBass head is doing on top of the rig? Is he bi-amping?

I think your right G-77 that it's just a right angled jack plug. The pics of the 30th anniversary basses on the Status site are Mark's, and thers no xlr socket on those! B)
