Ok Ive not even had the King Bass a week & Ive broken it!, I just tried to change the batteries & after 15 min of wrestling some loss of blood & a set of pliers I got the dam Duracell out the King bass, shame the battery holder came with it. The King bass is now 9v until a spare arrives from Rob, and it possibly has been 9v for some time as it looks like the connector on the back had been re-solderd wrong, ie black & red were on the same terminal.

Is it just me or are Duracells to fat to fit in the Gotoh battery holder. Energizers seem to fit just fine.

Im assuming I can use PVA glue to stick the battery box back in when it turns up.

I had similar problems with different battery sizes on my Patrice Blanc bass. Some could enter but would never go far enough to make contact.

I think the guy who sold you the kingbass "forgot" to tell you some details :D

I know some rechargeable ones are too short to give a reliable connection. :o

Rob recommends Duracells so they should fit!

Well I got some new energizers, & they fit in the holder much better & actually come out with out loss of blood.

The Energizers are about 2mm thiner. It will be interesting to see if the replacement Gotoh battery holder is any bigger.

Its fairly ridiculous that an "industry standard" PP3 battery can vary so much from company to company... Though in saying that, duracells do bulge in the middle a fair bit more than Energisers or Procells
