It appears my old favourite Wolfgang was once too a status Player.
Check the videos, bass solo starting around 1.30 on the second video.

Yes indeed, I had contact via email with him as he offered me his old Series II. Unfortunately, he apparently changed his mind in the end...

Wow, the tone in that second video was amazing, easily the best I've ever heard anyone sound with a pick (and that including my favourite pick player of all time, Mr Anthony Jackson!).
