My name is Matthew.

i am in London and am just aproaching the big 'four oh'!!

I have been playing bass since just before i joined the Royal Marines. I walked into a guitar shop in Bristol and there was a Status Series 2 sat there... I fell in love. i couldn't afford one then but about a year later after a 6 month stint in the jungle (nothing to spend my money on) i went to the Bass Centre in Wapping and bought a lovely Series 2000.

Since then i have had some wonderful basses 7 of which have been Status. All headless 4 string and all beautiful (2 x Series 2000 / 3 x Empathy / 2 x King Bass).

i have had to sell them to plough money into my various projects, the latest being pzizz (www.pzizz.com).

I now own a sexy King Bass with 16.5mm string spacing and green LED's. I have just bought a very early Series 2 which i'm looking forward to making 'like new' again. I'm also trying to get hold of something very special!!

i'm a bit of a Mark King fan but love other bass like Michael Manring & Jonas Helborg etc. I was lucky enought to meet the man who, in my opinion, played the best bass line ever. The track is 'The Fashion Show' and the album is Grace Jones 'Slave to the Rhythm'. He turns out to be a friend of a friend of mine!! Cool!

i have played in a couple of bands but really i just enjoy stroking my Status basses at home on my own plugged into GarageBand!

Sounds like you have had and still have some tasty basses. Have you any photos to share with us?
