Hey Enzo,
Those Yamahas are really fine basses, especially for a mass produced model. My teacher plays a Patitucci model. I also have another musician friend who plays one as well who. He plays in a band that plays lots of soul and funk stuff, and that bass sounds great in the mix. They are extremely versatile sonically, being both punchy and warm, plus they are very playable. Soundwise, I'd bet the KB has a more distinct sound...the graphite growl. Wish I could tell you how the neck of a KB 6 feels, and give you a better comparison, but I've never got my hands on one. There are quite a few Yamaha's floating around out there, see if you can try one. I like their feel, and if I wouldn't have ended up with my Lecompte I would have given the Yamaha some serious consideration. Especially since there are used ones available at good prices.

i also have a yamaha patitucci 6er.Ebony fretbored, really good preamp and its a high output bass, the alinco pups have a lovely earthy tone and are very flexible across the range plus its easy to play compared to other 6ers ive tried, the twin trussrod allows for less wood in the back of the neck so its its nice and comfy in the hands.i lke all my basses to be user friendly and as 6ers go this definatly is! cheers

Thanks guys, very interesting info in your posts. I will definitely try one. I have the chance to buy a TRB 6 P, neck thru with electronic upgrade like Patitucci model, made by the factory.
I've tried one and the neck is really a challenge for my hands but at least has a almost flat radius so that makes it easier to play.
Like you said Mike, after you play a 6, switching to a 4 is a funny sensation, like you're playing a child bass.
